(This is in response to a poem I received from someone very special to me).

I followed the voice of a nightingale
But couldn't see through the darkness to find its owner
It echoed through my racing mind
So sad and lonely
Calling for its lover
Its mate
I tried to call back
But no sound issued from my long unused throat
I stumbled along my sightless path
Always growing closer to the voice but never reaching it
Along the way many voices tried to distract me
Turn me away from my path
And sometimes those other voices succeeded in confusing me
Making me lose track of the voice of a nightingale
But I always return to the right path
And not matter how many times I am lead astray
I will always return to you
The one who stole the voice of a nightingale
